A B O U T M E

Hi, I’m Poppy — officially known as Malin Poppy Darcy Mörner. I’m a Swedish photographer, storyteller and creative, based in the charming little town of Mariefred, just outside Stockholm.

I live in a dreamy green house filled with memories, together with my husband Gustav — my high school crush turned life partner — and our two wonderful daughters, Stella and Lykke.

I’ve always been drawn to people, places and the stories that unfold between them. I love the energy of adventure and discovering somewhere new, but I’m equally happy slowing down and noticing the beauty in the everyday. A quiet moment, a beautiful light, a long table filled with people, a glass of wine, music turned up in the car — these are the things I tend to remember.

Photography has always been about more than taking a beautiful picture for me. It’s about connection. About making people feel comfortable enough to be themselves, and finding those honest little moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.

My own path has taken a few unexpected turns. After ten years in finance, I chose to leave and build a creative life of my own. Since then, photography has grown into much more than a profession. It has become a way of connecting with people, creating businesses and telling stories — and, perhaps most importantly, creating spaces where other women can grow too.

I care deeply about sharing what I’ve learned along the way, opening doors, creating opportunities and encouraging more women to believe in their ideas, value their skills and build businesses that give them both freedom and the possibility to create a life that feels like their own.

Alongside Poppy Photography, I’m also one of the founders of Liv Darcy Studio, a creative studio I built together with Linda Eliasson. Through Liv Darcy Studio, we work with photography, film, storytelling and creative production for brands, businesses, people and places.

I love travelling and I’m lucky enough to follow stories wherever they take me — from Sweden to destinations around the world. Wherever I am, I’m always looking for the feeling behind the image.

I fell in love with photography the moment I received my first camera when I was young. The connection that I developed then with this beautiful artform made me realize that even though life takes twists and turns, photography will stay with me forever.

When it comes to the location, I believe you can find beauty anywhere. Whether that’s at the beach, in the forest, in the studio or simply in the comfort of your home. You can find beauty if you look for it. What you perceive as beauty may differ to another photographer. For me, when it comes to capturing candid moments, I try to find shots that express love, happiness and honest connections. If you’re around people that feel comfortable with you, you’re almost certain to capture them in their most natural and candid state. I try to capture raw and authentic moments that will give you results you will truly cherish forever.

I wish you could see the beauty you reflect, when you’re simply yourself.

When I photograph I always see beauty. Even if you’re shy or uncomfortable in front of the camera, I will do everything to make you feel good. I want you to feel what I see! I want to hear your story, I want to get to know you, not because I am curious about you, but simply because I believe that you get closer to a person, if you open up and share something that is important to you. I can’t wait to hear more about you and capture you, by simply being yourself.
